Shepard DiStasio (he/they) is a trans, disabled writer based in Chicago, IL. They are a Swarthout Poetry Award winner, and their debut novel, VEIL US IN GOLD, was an Indie Ink Awards finalist for Trans/Nonbinary Rep. You can find their words in DOG TEETH, Reverent: An Anthology of Devotion, Lux Creative Review, and forthcoming poems in Wasteland Review. The sequel to VEIL US IN GOLD, is forthcoming mid-late 2025.
When not fixated on the different uses of red and black ink in Egyptian Books of the Dead, or wrangling the poetic monster that is Doric Greek, he enjoys letting a cup of coffee sit for hours as he plots out more angst and yearning. They and their partner have 2 cats, Pumpkin and Obi, who do indeed deserve all the pets. Shepard is represented by Aiden Siobhan at LDLA.
